Assignment 1 progress
Assignment 1
First, I drew the mask shape using the ellipse tool. I modified the mask using the direct selection tool to create a skeleton shape.
I've added 2 ellipse shape and a straight line to the gas mask. Then, I've combined an ellipse and a rectangle to create the filter of the mask. I used two rectangles to connect the filters and the mask.
I used the pen tool to create the leaves in my assignment. I drew four leaves and later will combine them with the stem.
After all the shapes are created, I used gradient to fill the leaves. The mask was filled with grey colour and I used pathfinder to combine the face and the filters. For the tree stem, I've used stroke and brush to make it look thick. Then, I rearranged the objects for the final step.
This is the final product.

Sketch
This is my sketch. As i said before,I used a gas mask and a symbol of a tree as a reference. The gas mask represents the future of mankind due to their actions toward the mother nature. It symbolizes that soon enough people will have to breathe through a gas mask due to the effect of global warming. The tree represents a life;fading away as its color. It shows that global warming will bring destruction to life but hope still exists for the earth.
